Who we are
The Church Lads’ and Church Girls’ Brigade is a Church of Ireland uniformed youth organisation for both boys and girls aged 4-21 years old. Formed in 1891 the CLCGB celebrates its 125th Anniversary this year. Our moto is to extend Christ’s Kingdom and to encourage boys and girls to get involved with their local church.
We do this through our aims of Fun, Faith and Fellowship, we strive to ensure that children who come along to the CLCGB will make friends, have fun, learn new things and most importantly grow in their faith.
We encourage a strong link between our groups and their parish, with our groups getting actively involved in church life. We believe that being part of a larger organisation which has a structure is so good for children and we hope that our groups are a safe place for children to belong and find acceptance and stability.
Our members and leaders wear a sweatshirt and polo shirt embroidered with the Brigade Badge which is based on the Armour of Christ in Ephesians 6.
